Gokyo Lake Trek, also known as Gokyo Ri Trek or Gokyo Valley Trek is the package specially designed for those who are seeking for adventure in wild nature and wants to explore entire Everest basin enjoying with the culture, tradition and cuisine of Sherpa’s (one of the ethic groups of Nepal). Gokyo Lake lies in the Solukhumbu district of Sagarmatha Zone in north east of Nepal and it is also the native land of Sherpa’s. Gokyo Cho is often known as Dudh Pokhari. Gokyo Lake trekking offers the perfect eye catching views of the roof of the world, Mount Everest(8848m) and many other highest peaks in the world including Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8481m) and Cho Oyu (8153m). This trek is challenging in comparison to others but it rewards trekkers with panoramic views of stunning himalayans and Ngozumpa (Nepal’s largest glacier). This trek doesn’t offers only adventure and sightseeing but it also offers a chance to bosom with the natives of Khumbu region so this trekking route is highly famous among national and international trekkers.
Gokyo Lake trek starts from the sightseeing of Kathmandu valley which is also known as open live museum with the blusting bazaar of temples. Next day early in the morning we will take a scenic flight to Lukla from Kathmandu which takes only 35 minutes. After landing in Lukla airport we will follow the Dudh Koshi river basin towards Namche Bazaar. Then we will follow the traditional Everest Base Camp Trekking route towards the beautiful village of Phortse, Tenga and finally we will reach our exact dreaming destination “Gokyo valley” which is blessed with two high Lakes and amazing surroundings.
This mesmerizing escapade from the bustling Kathmandu to serentiy of torqouised Gokyo lake traverses one by uplifting their spirit, experiences the enhancement in set of vision of seeing the world and oneself. Detail Itinerary
Arrival in Kathmandu airport and Transfer to the Hotel
"After your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, our airport representative will greet you with khada (typical traditional Tibetian/Nepali scaff using for greetings) and escort you to the hotel. In the afternoon, you can take rest or explore the streets of Thamel nearby your hotel. In the evening, we will organize a short pre-trip meeting and introduce you with your trekking guide, who will brief you about the preparations to be done for the trip."

Full day sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley
"After breakfast around 9am our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel and you will go for sightseeing and overnight at hotel. You will visit the following sites:
Pashupatinath
A world wide famous Temple with great hindu faith. This temple is located 5km east from the city center in the bank of holy Bagmati river. This temple is highly ornamented and dedicated to Lord Shiva. The surrounding of temple is magnificent.
Swayambhunath : Monkey temple
Swayambhunath is also named as monkey temple by westerners because there are a lot of monkeys live in the temple. This temple offers various arts, architecture and the magnificent view of Kathmandu valley from the western side of its hillock. We can see many pilgrims burning candles and worshipping Lord Buddha. We also can see the eye print of Lord Buddha in Swayambhunath Stupa which stands for Peace and knowledge
Bouddhanath
It is the oldest and largest stupa in the valley which is built in the 5th century. It’s old name is “Khasa” later it is changed in Bouddhanath by the government. This stupa is built by Lichhabi dynasty with eye print of Lord Buddha which stands for peace and Knowledge
Patan Durbar Square
Durbar Square is situated at the center of the city of Lalitpur which is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main attraction of Patan Durbar Square is the ancient royal palace where the Malla Kings of Lalitpur resided. There are many temples and idols in the area. You also can explore the newari lifestyle,food and culture in square and also can visit the museum with the collection of ancient things.Overnight at hotel
Fly to Lukla from Kathmandu and trek to Phakding (2,651m) : 25 min flight and 3-4 hours trek
"After breakfast you will fly to Lukla from Kathmandu which is the gateway of your destination. This is an amazing flight with the stunning views of Himalayas and green hills. After reaching in Lukla you will trek to Phakding about 3-4 hours of trek. Overnight at Phakding"
Trek to Namche Bazaar from Phakding: 5-6 hours
"After breakfast you will trek to Namche Bazaar via dense pine forest. You will continue walking through the bank of Dudh Koshi, crossing the suspension bridge and you will reach to Monjo Village. After a walk of an hour up Namche hill we will reach to Namche Bazar. Namche Bazar offers the suttning views of mountains. Overnight at Namche bazar"
Acclimatization Day
"As Namche Bazar is the headquarter of Khumbu Region it holds all the governmental offices, shops, restaurants, ATMs and many more so you can spend your whole day exploring Namche Bazaar. You can hike to Khumjung village which offers varieties of flora, fauna and stunning mountain views. Khumjung village is the traditional settlement of Sherpa’s(ethnic group of Nepal). Overnight at guesthouse."
Trek to Phorste Thanga from Namche Bazaar: 4-5 hours trek
"You will follow the trail which goes via rhododendron forest, juniper and large conifers starts to appear as the elevation increases making the trekking vary pristine in spring. The trail passes through Yak Kharkas and summer settlements. While trekking you will be rewarded with amazing views of Khumbu La and Tawache. Overnight at Phorste"
Trek from Phorste Thanga to Machhermo : 4-5 hours trek
"After breakfast you will trek to down valley to Khentega and upwards Cho Oyu and descend to a river and again climbs steepy to the terminal moraine of the Ngozumpa glacier. Overnight at Machhermo"
Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo: 5-6 hours trek
"On this day you will walk towards your main destination. You will follow the trail via green lush forest. After reaching in Gokyo you will have a sightseeing and you can hike around Gokyo. Overnight at hotel"
Trek to Gokyo Ri and back to Gokyo : 5-6 hours trek
"Early in the morning, you will have a steep climb up to the top of the Gokyo Ri an elevation of 5,483 m. You will be rewarded with stunning views of Gokyo valley, the massive Ngozumpa Glacier and an incredible panoramic view of the entire Khumbu himalayans. Overnight at Gokyo"
Trek to Dole from Gokyo : 3-4 hours
"After breakfast you will follow the trail which descends along the Dudh Koshi River and passes the first Gokyo Lake. You will walk enjoying the amazing views of Thamserku, Cho Oyu, and Kangtega mountains. You pass several villages including Luza village. Overnight at Dole"
Trek to Namche Bazaar from Dole : 6-7 hours trek
"After breakfast you will trek down through the hillside covered by rhododendron and juniper trees. After crossing the hill you will cross the bridge of Dudh Koshi River you will follow the Dudh Koshi gorge descending rapidly through pine forest. Overnight at Namche Bazzar"
Trek to Lukla from Namche Bazaar : 6-7 hours trek
"On this day you will be walking downward via steepy trail. You will cross the Suspension bridges of Dudh Koshi then you will be walking via dense forest. Overnight at Lukla"
Fly to Kathmandu from Lukla: 25 min flight and Farewell Dinner at Thamel
"After breakfast you will fly back to Kathmandu and we drop you at your hotel. Shopping can be done in Thamel. In the evening, We host post trek celebration dinner at typical Nepali restaurant where you can taste the typical Nepali cuisine with cultural show. Overnight at your hotel in Kathmandu."
Departure day
"Today is the last day of your this trip. If you would like to stay more in Nepal; you have many options which can be shared with us upon request.
